Tarragona, Spain – In an exciting move for basketball fans in Tarragona, Ibersol C.B. Tarragona, a team competing in Spain's Segunda FEB (second-tier basketball league), has welcomed 29-year-old Nigerian forward Tope Arikawe to its roster.

Standing tall at 6’8” and weighing 220 pounds, Arikawe brings both size and skill to the team. He started the current season with CB Prat Juventud, where he appeared in six games and averaged 3.2 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.

Before joining Prat Juventud, Arikawe showcased his talent in Sweden’s Superettan league during the 2022-2023 season, playing for Malbas Malmo. His journey as a professional athlete has also taken him to various European leagues. Over the years, he has suited up for teams in Denmark, such as Svendborg, and in Sweden for clubs including BC Lulea, Ockelbo, Trelleborg, Koping Stars, and Team4Q Helsingborg.

A Career Built on Perseverance

One of the standout moments of Arikawe’s career was his participation in the Eurobasket Summer League, a highly regarded platform that has helped many aspiring players launch their professional basketball careers overseas. This experience gave him valuable exposure and honed his skills further.

A Strong Foundation in the U.S.

Arikawe’s basketball journey began at the collegiate level in the United States. He graduated from the University of North Texas in 2019, where he left his mark with his dedication and performance. Before joining North Texas, he spent two formative years playing at Panola College.
