RXDO
Emerald Kwekowe (born 2 February 1997), known professionally as RXDO (pronounced Rado), is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and software developer known for his fusion of contemporary R&B blended with Afrobeats and Afrosoul. Emerging in 2025, RXDO’s music is characterized by soulful storytelling, smooth melodies, and reflective lyricism rooted in his dual background in technology and music.
Early Life & Education
Emerald Kwekowe was born on 2 February 1997 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, into a family of seven with five boys. His father served as a choir director in the local church, inspiring Kwekowe’s early interest in music. He joined the church choir at the age of 17, developing his vocal ability and musical curiosity before eventually focusing on software development.
Kwekowe studied Computer Science at the National Open University of Nigeria. During his early university years, he began experimenting with music production and released multiple instrumental beats under the moniker “Soundnificient” on SoundCloud in 2015. This period marked his first public engagement with music and laid the groundwork for his later production style and artistic identity.
Though he temporarily stepped away from music to pursue a career in technology, his creative inclinations resurfaced, leading him to formally begin releasing music in 2025.

Career & Experience
Beginnings and production work (2014–2016)
Operating under the producer tag Soundnificient, Kwekowe began uploading self-produced beats to SoundCloud in 2015, focusing on R&B and hip-hop–inspired instrumentals. Though he later paused his music activity to focus on software development, the skills he developed as a beatmaker informed his future sound design and songwriting as RXDO.
Debut and emergence as RXDO (2025–present)
Kwekowe reintroduced himself to the music scene under the stage name RXDO in 2025. His debut single, “Energy”, produced by Irock Classic, was released in August 2025 through independent distribution with UnitedMasters. The track established his sonic identity — a blend of soulful R&B vocals and Afrobeats-infused production layered with introspective lyrics.
Following “Energy”, RXDO announced his sophomore single, “Blessings”, scheduled for release on 4 November 2025, also produced by Irock Classic. Both releases reflect his central themes of faith, gratitude, and personal evolution.
He made a notable performance appearance on Rhythm and Vybez, a show owned by Nigerian music promoter Promo Master, where he performed “Energy.”

Parallel career in technology
Alongside his music, Kwekowe maintains an active career as a software developer. Based in Lagos, Nigeria, he has worked with international technology companies and continues to build digital products while developing his music career. RXDO has stated that his experience in software development influences his artistic discipline and creative process.
He plans to relocate to Munich, Germany, in 2026 to further both his professional and artistic ambitions.
