Who owns what on HOTNEWAFRO, how our content may be used, and how to report material you believe infringes your rights.
01Our content
Editorial articles, photography, video, charts, illustrations, product designs, the HOTNEWAFRO and HNA marks, and the Platform's design and code are owned by HOTNEWAFRO Entertainment Ltd. or used under licence. Artist artwork, press images, album covers and recordings featured in our coverage remain the property of their respective owners and are used for reporting and commentary.
02How you may use it
- Link to our pages freely, and quote short extracts with clear attribution to HOTNEWAFRO and a link to the original article.
- Share our social posts and embeds using the platforms' native sharing tools.
Without prior written permission you may not:
- Republish full articles, galleries or video.
- Systematically scrape, mirror or archive the Platform, or use our content to train machine-learning models.
- Reproduce our logos, cover artwork or product designs on merchandise.
- Resell or redistribute digital covers, collectibles or downloads.
Licensing and syndication requests: legal@hotnewafro.com.
03Submitting a takedown notice
If you own rights in material published on the Platform — including material posted by a user or Creator — and believe it is used without authorisation, send a notice to legal@hotnewafro.com with the subject line "Copyright Takedown". Please include:
- Your full name, organisation, postal address, email and phone.
- Identification of the work you own, with a link or copy of the original where possible.
- The exact URL(s) on hotnewafro.com where the material appears.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Incomplete notices delay action. Knowingly false claims may expose you to liability.
04What happens next
- We acknowledge valid notices within 5 business days and aim to conclude review within 14 business days.
- Where a claim is substantiated we remove or disable access to the material and notify the user who posted it, if applicable.
- Repeat infringers lose posting privileges and may have their accounts terminated.
05Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or that you hold the necessary rights or a valid fair-dealing basis, email legal@hotnewafro.com with the subject "Counter-Notice", identifying the removed material and its former location, explaining your basis, and confirming your contact details. We may restore the material unless the original complainant pursues legal action.
06Credits and corrections
If a photograph or artwork is credited incorrectly, we will correct it rather than remove it where the rights holder is content for the use to continue. Write to info@hotnewafro.com with the URL and the correct credit.
Working draft pending legal review. Notices: legal@hotnewafro.com.
