"Can You Answer" is inspired by a real-life event. A close friend, going through marital issues, unexpectedly called with news that would change their friendship forever — no longer wishing to remain in contact, leaving Mila grappling with anger, sadness, and disappointment.

Through writing, Mila GxG began to understand the deeper emotional struggles their friend was experiencing, which were manifesting in their drastic decision to end the friendship.
