HNA Intelligence Radar — 2 Nov 2026
Report 12, from Sunday 1 November to Monday 2 November. ‘IKEBE 3000’ leads. AFRIFF is open. ‘Inferno’ is No. 1 at home. Anything marked unverified stays that way.

This is Report 12 of the HNA Intelligence Radar. The window is Sunday 1 November, 07:00, to Monday 2 November, 07:00, West Africa Time. It was read against Report 11, dated 1 November, and filed at about 08:00 WAT. It is a briefing for the desk. It is not a published story until Paul approves it.
The longer reads from this window are already drafted: ‘IKEBE 3000’ at No. 1 in the UK, AFRIFF’s opening, the Dakar 2026 ceremony, ‘Inferno’ on day three, Davido’s $500,000 line, the chart workbook, and DStv, ‘The Four’, and the box office. What follows is the rest of the desk, including the items that are not ready to stand alone.
The briefing
Blaqbonez and Asake’s ‘IKEBE 3000’ climbed to No. 1 on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart dated 1–7 November, ending the run of ‘Heaven Baby’ at the top. Afrobeats Head calls Blaqbonez the first rapper to top it. HNA has not checked the chart’s history for that claim. Double Gee2x’s ‘Ore Agbako’ enters at No. 10.
AFRIFF’s 15th edition opened in Lagos with Olive Nwosu’s ‘Lady’. The film and content market runs 2–5 November. Best of Nollywood nominations are out in one newspaper: ‘Love and New Notes’ is reported with nine. That count is single-source.
In Senegal, the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympics opening on 31 October put Kiné Lam, Baaba Maal, Daara J Family and Dip Doundou Guiss on that stage, with the rest of the lineup in the ceremony story.
In Nigeria, ‘Inferno’ is No. 1 on Spotify with 390,677 streams and No. 1 on Apple Music for a third day. Davido says he would ask $500,000 a show for a joint Wizkid tour. Rema’s ‘EMB’ is due on 6 November. A circulating tracklist is not confirmed.
In South Africa, the radar has Dlala Thukzin’s ‘Ember’ overtaking Blxckie’s ‘YENA’ at No. 1 on Apple Music albums. That albums figure is single-source and is not in the song workbook. In Kenya, USIU-Africa wins a campus Call of Duty: Mobile title in one newspaper, and Tusker Oktobafest is on the road with Wakadinali and Ssaru, which two outlets report.
Watch next, in the radar’s own list: AFRIFF film-market deals from 2–5 November, DStv Nigeria’s price change on 5 November, ART X Lagos on 5–8 November, Rema’s ‘EMB’ on 6 November, and the next Nigerian box-office update, which could confirm the 2026 record. ART X is “per ART X save-the-date; not confirmed on the fair’s site.” The record figure itself is not in the report.
Ranked, with the caveat attached
1. ‘IKEBE 3000’, UK Afrobeats, P1
Two sources. Official Charts, corroborated by Afrobeats Head. New. The song is No. 1 in its fourth week, up from No. 2. ‘Heaven Baby’ is No. 2 after 11 weeks. ‘B4 B4’ is No. 3. Report 11 had said the next chart was due on 6 November. It was already live on 1 November. Full story.
2. AFRIFF, P2
Two sources. Okay News and QED.NG. Opened 1 November with ‘Lady’. Market at Twinwaters, Lekki, 2–5 November. Closing film ‘It’s the Blackness’ on 6 November. Globe Awards on 7 November. Rita Dominic, Wale Ojo, Osas Ighodaro and Djimon Hounsou are reported at the gala. Full story.
3. Dakar 2026, P2
Two sources. Olympics.com and SeneNews. Ceremony on 31 October at Stade Abdoulaye Wade, Diamniadio. The radar calls it the first Olympic event held in Africa, from Olympics.com. More than 2,700 athletes, 25 sports. Full story.
4. ‘Inferno’, day three, P2
Two sources. kworb and ChartStats. Update. No. 1 on both Nigeria lists. 390,677 Spotify streams, down 58,445, total 1,339,024. A claim of 5 million streams across platforms, and a Shazam No. 1, are X only. HNA has not verified them. Full story.
5. Davido on Wizkid, P2
Two sources. Daily Post, syndicated by MyJoyOnline. He would ask $500,000 a show. A joint song might not ‘pop’. No tour has been announced. Full story.
6. Rema, ‘EMB’, P2 — not confirmed
What would settle it: an official tracklist from Rema or Mavin.
7. ‘Ember’ on Apple Music South Africa albums, P2 — single source
ChartStats for 1 November has Dlala Thukzin’s 10-track ‘Ember’, released 30 October, at No. 1 on its third day, up one. Blxckie’s ‘YENA’ is No. 2. Young Stunna’s ‘Busisiwe’ is No. 3. Report 11 had ‘YENA’ at No. 1 on 31 October. The radar says this needs a second source before the figures are published as settled. The song workbook does show new Dlala Thukzin titles on Apple Music South Africa. That is not the same fact as an album No. 1.
8. BON Awards nominations, P2 — single source
Independent Newspaper Nigeria reports the list. The ceremony is to be held in Enugu. No date is in the article. ‘Love and New Notes’ has nine nominations, including Movie of the Year. ‘The Herd’ has eight. ‘The Creek’, ‘Aba Blues’, ‘Colors of Fire’ and ‘Efunroye: The Unicorn’ have seven each. Osas Ighodaro has two Best Actress nominations, for ‘Colors of Fire’ and ‘3 Cold Dishes’. Best Actor nominees named in the radar: Wale Ojo, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Uzor Arukwe, Timini Egbuson, Jide Kene Achufusi and Bucci Franklin. One source. Treat the counts as reported, not settled.
9. Nathaniel Bassey, P3 — single source
Punch reports the Nathaniel Bassey Main channel has passed 1.014 billion views, with 5.24 million subscribers, since 2011. Punch describes him as the first gospel artist to reach the milestone “according to available channel statistics.” HNA has not checked the ‘first’. Punch ties the growth to the October 2026 Hallelujah Challenge and notes that he has said the worship sessions are not about revenue. That last line is Punch’s paraphrase, not a quote HNA is rebuilding. Vanguard and TVC also carried the story in search results the radar did not open.
10. USIU-Africa, campus Call of Duty, P3 — single source
The Star reports USIU-Africa won Carry1st’s COD: Mobile Siku Zombo Tour, a KSh100,000 prize. Dedan Kimathi University of Technology was second. Multimedia University was third. Carry1st’s Adekoya Ayomide said the company would keep backing the local scene. That is The Star’s paraphrase. One source.
11. Tusker Oktobafest, P3
Two sources. Business Now and VantageKE. Kenya Breweries’ stop at 1922, Nyali, on 1 November, with Wakadinali, Ssaru and Keteh of Base to Billboardz, free entry. Further stops in the same reports: Nebraska, Ugunja, on 7 November; Space Next Door, Nakuru, on 14 November; Big Tree, Mombasa, on 21 November. This is an alcohol brand. Any listing on HNA needs an age gate. The radar does not report a fee for the artists.
12. DStv Nigeria prices, P3
Two sources. dstv.com and Nollywood Distilled. Starter ₦6,000, Select ₦11,000, Sports ₦21,000, Premium ₦44,500, from 5 November 2026. Full story, with the box office.
13. ‘The Four’, P3
Two sources. TheCable Lifestyle and Credible News. Facebook will support a London world premiere and a Lagos homecoming. Cinemas on 11 December. The London date was not in the sources opened. Meta’s Oluwasola Obagbemi is quoted by TheCable. The quotation itself is not in this packet, so it is not invented here.
14. ‘Tse Monate’, P3 — single source
We Speak Media reports the amapiano single, released 30 October, crediting Diamond Platnumz, Xduppy and DJ Maphorisa as main artists, with Focalistic, Uncool MC, Angekebabuye mc and Ricky Lenyora. It runs 6:02. The label credit is New Money Gang Records, distributed by Sony Music Entertainment Africa. The radar says it is a different recording from the 2025 track of the same name. One source. The runtime and the credits stay marked as that.
15. Knowless Butera, P3 — headline only
The New Times, on 1 November, reports that Knowless Butera performed at the third edition of Improper Access in Kigali on 31 October, taking fans “down memory lane.” HNA could only read the headline and the photo caption. That phrase is the paper’s, from that limited read. It is not a review.
What X is saying, and what it is not
The radar is explicit: X is a discovery signal. Impression counts appear only where the X tool returned them.
- Blaqbonez and the UK No. 1. The chart is verified. X News quotes ‘number 1 u know i envisioned it…’. HNA has not opened the post.
- ‘Inferno’. The Spotify and Apple positions are verified. The 5 million and the Shazam claim are not.
- Davido. The Daily Post remarks are verified. The ‘maturity’ and ‘snub’ split is X only.
- Rema. The tracklist is unconfirmed. The 30 October post was a silent six-second video with 1,159,120 impressions on the X tool.
- Seyi Vibez and Blaqbonez. Daily Post, on 1 November, reports the exchange: Blaqbonez posted ‘I am not Seyi Vibez’, and Seyi Vibez replied ‘Odumodu is your daddy’. Talk of a signing is X only. There is no deal.
- Bloody Civilian and Tyla’s tour. Reactions are X only. The dropped Lagos show dates from July, in a France 24 search result the radar did not open as a fresh story.
- Dakar. The performers are verified. Headcounts are X only.
- A traditional priestess dancing to Medikal and Shatta Wale’s ‘Shoulder’ at the Sacred Crown Awards in Accra on 31 October is reported by GhanaWeb from an @askghmedia post. That is the basis the radar gives.
- ‘A Re Yeng’ dance clips, and a BNXN clip from Trace Live on 30 October, are X only. They are not stories.
Markets, as the desk scored coverage
- Nigeria, strong. AFRIFF, ‘Inferno’, Davido, ‘EMB’, BON, Bassey, DStv, ‘The Four’.
- Ghana, thin. No strong Ghana-origin story verified in the window. MyJoyOnline syndicated the Davido interview. Sarkodie’s non-performing visit begins 2 November, carried from Report 11.
- Senegal, good. The opening ceremony.
- Kenya, partial. The Star on campus esports. Two outlets on Tusker Oktobafest.
- Rwanda, thin. Knowless, headline only.
- South Africa, partial. The albums note, ‘Tse Monate’, and an Africa Choice Awards night on 1 November in Pretoria with no winners found. Magic 828 previewed the awards. That is the radar’s basis.
- London, good. The UK chart, and a London premiere of ‘The Four’ with no date.
- Canada, thin. A Pheelz listing in Toronto on 6 November is a search result, not verified. Black Sherif’s Canada dates sit in the diary from Report 11.
On the diary
Dates below are the radar’s diary. Where a line is carried from an earlier report, it says so. HNA has not re-opened those earlier reports for this page.
- 2–5 November. AFRIFF Film and Content Market, Twinwaters, Lekki.
- 5 November. New DStv packages in Nigeria.
- 5–8 November. ART X Lagos, Federal Palace, per a save-the-date. Not confirmed on the fair’s site in this run.
- 6 November. ‘EMB’, if the Notjustok date holds. AFRIFF closing film, ‘It’s the Blackness’.
- 7 November. AFRIFF Globe Awards. Tusker Oktobafest, Ugunja.
- 8 November. The next Official Afrobeats Chart, dated 8–14 November, expected.
- 11 December. ‘The Four’ in cinemas. ‘Clarissa’, from Arie and Chuko Esiri, on NEON in the US. The Gotham nominations, four of them, were announced 27 October and are context only, via Nollywood Distilled.
- 13 November. Dakar 2026 closes.
Also on the diary, carried from earlier reports and not re-reported here: Sarkodie’s visits from 2 November with no performances; a Shebeshxt bail hearing resuming 9–12 November in Polokwane; Olamide’s ‘Time & Space’ on 16 November in Report 11, with an Apple pre-release listing 17 November; Gyakie Live at Ghud Park, Accra, on 12 December, from MyJoyOnline on 20 October. An X summary on 1 November named that Gyakie show wrongly. The radar kept the date and dropped the wrong name.
Left out on purpose
- TNS to Africori, and Cici on amapiano, via ZakaVibes. The embedded posts look old. Not used.
- Ladipoe’s ‘Providence’ EP, via val9ja. The radar dates that EP to November 2021.
- Tyla ‘Dynamite’ and a Burna Boy and Wizkid ‘Ballon D’or’, via val9ja. Reposts, no release evidence.
- Manni Mufasa’s ‘DIESI’, via QNC News. Single source, and the radar has found QNC unreliable before.
- A Chiboo deal with Giti Inc. Rewrite of a 26 October story.
- The Nigerian weekend box office for 30 October–1 November. Not published when the report was written.
- Rema’s feature list as fact. Held above, as unconfirmed.
How the desk scored it
The rubric, out of 100, is significance 30, timeliness 20, verification 20, audience interest 15, commercial relevance 15. P1 is 80 or above. P2 is 62 to 79. P3 is below 62. The radar says the rubric is carried over from earlier reports because part of the saved brief is missing. Scores, and every “why it matters” line in the report, are editorial analysis. They are not new facts, and they are not printed here as if they were.
The run’s own count: about 40 distinct stories after duplicates, 15 selected, 7 primary sources consulted, about 20 corroborating sources, and 10 X reads. Ghana, Rwanda and Canada were thin. Fashion and visual art were thin. ART X is upcoming, and unconfirmed on the fair’s site. The weekly box-office update was not out.
A Canva carousel was made for the Blaqbonez chart item. It is a desk asset, viewable here, not a published cover. The working page of the report is linked in the sources.
